UWIG Wind Turbine Operations and Maintenance Users Group Meeting

This all-day event is the second meeting under this user group's new scope, membership requirements, and participation limitations. The morning will consist of a Plenary Session open to user group members and interested parties. The Plenary Session at this meeting will focus on blades. A complete agenda for the Plenary Session will be posted in the near term.

The afternoon session will consist of vendor product-specific Roundtable Forums for members only. The format will consist of open discussions, moderated by a Roundtable chair, centered on a specific wind turbine component or specific model of wind turbine. The Roundtable will provide the opportunity for frank and open discussion among users, who will share their information, knowledge and experience.

Informal discussion at the Roundtables will be encouraged through the presentation of case studies, user experience reports describing a problem and how it was solved, or a show-and-tell. Use of components and projected pictures and photos to describe events and illustrate problems and solutions will be encouraged in order to incorporate valuable first hand experience.

Attendees will have the opportunity on October 1 to tour the Vestas Blades plant in nearby Windsor, Colo. This facility represents Vestas’ first manufacturing facility in the United States. This tour is available to individuals who are affiliated with utilities, system operators, developers, and plant owners/operators, but not other turbine manufacturers. Registration for this tour is limited to the first 35 individuals and participants must be cleared by UWIG and Vestas management. Registration for this tour ended on September 9 and no additional participants will be accepted.

Attendees of this meeting should mention the group code UWI to receive the group rate of $114 plus applicable taxes. The room block expired August 30, but is being honored on a space-available basis.

On-line registration will be made available upon request to user group members and interested parties from UWIG member organizations - send e-mail to info@uwig.org to request the registration link. Note that registration for the other user group meetings, as well as the Fall Technical Workshop, will be conducted separately. All registrations will be confirmed via e-mail upon receipt if a valid e-mail address is provided.

Cancellations and Refunds

All requests for refunds must be submitted to UWIG in writing.

Requests received by September 22 - receive refund less $75 administrative fee.

Requests received by September 25 - receive refund less $125 administrative fee.

Unless there are extreme circumstances, no refunds will be made for cancellations received after September 25 or for no-shows.

Registrants who have not paid by September 22 will need to make arrangements to pay in advance via credit card or risk having their registrations cancelled.
