Wind Integration: Focus on Eastern Markets

The 2004 UWIG Fall Technical Workshop explored key issues related to deployment of wind energy in the Northeastern U.S., Canada, and nationwide, and included presentations and discussion on both large-scale (transmission-connected) and small-scale (distribution-connected) wind turbine installation experiences.

Workshop topics included

  • Results from Recent Wind Integration Studies
  • Technology Advances including Turbine Developments, Hydrogen from Wind, and Energy Storage
  • Regional Wind Project Developments

The workshop on October 27 was followed on October 28 with meetings of the UWIG user groups and a tour of the control center for the New York Independent System Operator and the facilities of GE Global Research.

On this page can be found the agenda and meeting overview for this workshop. The Utility Wind Interest Group, now the Utility Wind Integration Group, is pleased to make available the presentations for the session "Eastern Electricity Markets - How Does Wind Play in Competitive Markets for Energy, Capacity, and Ancillary Services."
