Please send e-mail to info@uwig.org to be added to our mailing list for future eventsDownload AnnouncementDownload AgendaThe Utility Wind Integration Group (UWIG), in cooperation with the Irish Transmission System Operator, EirGrid, the Irish networks owner and Distribution System Operator, ESB Networks, the Irish agency responsible for promotion of renewable energy, Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) and the industry-university research collaboration, the Electricity Research Center (ERC) are hosting a Research Symposium on Wind Integration Study Models and Methods in Dublin, Ireland, on July 7-8, 2009. The workshop will bring together a collection of planners and operators dealing with real world issues, researchers from the industrial and academic community, and government agencies actively sponsoring R&D work in the field. The symposium will explore the implications of the additional variability and uncertainty associated with integrating ever increasing amounts of wind energy on the system, on the planning and operating tools and techniques needed to operate the system. The symposium will seek to identify additional research necessary to develop the planning and operating tools necessary to continue to operate the system in a reliable and economic fashion under a high renewable scenario. A unique aspect of the symposium is that it will bring together parties from both North America and Europe to explore these areas of increasing importance, and identify fruitful areas of research for future government programs. The purpose of the research symposium is threefold:

Requests received by July 1 - receive refund less €30 administrative fee. Requests received by July 6 - receive refund less €100 administrative fee. Unless there are extreme circumstances, no refunds will be made for cancellations received after July 6 or for no-shows. Registrants who have not paid by July 1 will need to make arrangements to pay in advance via credit card or risk having their registrations cancelled.
