The 2013 UVIG Spring Technical Workshop will provide attendees with an expanded perspective on the status of wind and solar generation in utility systems in the United States and other countries. The technical workshop agenda focuses on variable generation integration, application, and operation on utility transmission and distribution systems. The schedule of events includes meetings of the UVIG User Groups, the 2013 UVIG Membership Meeting and Board of Directors election on April 4 and a reception featuring the presentation of the UVIG Annual Achievement Awards on April 3.

UVIG User Group Meetings (UVIG members and invited guests only) – April 2. User groups meeting this day include:

The UVIG Plant Operations & Maintenance Users Group will meet in parallel with this event. UVIG members are welcome to attend the plenary session being held the morning of April 2. Only eligible UVIG members will be able to participate in the other activities of this user group. Please click here for more information.

UVIG Awards Reception - April 3. UVIG will honor recipients of the 2013 Annual Achievement Awards, as well as recipients of its 2013-2014 Academic Scholarships.

UVIG Annual Membership Meeting - April 4. Open to UVIG members and invited guests, this meeting will consist of reports of the organization's staff and officers and the 2013 election of the UVIG Board of Directors.

Optional Tour

There will be an opportunity on April 4 to tour the Clemson Restoration Institute Wind Turbine Drivetrain Test Facility after the close of the workshop. This first-of-a-kind facility, under construction at the former Charleston Navy Yard, will provide attendees the opportunity to see a 7.5 MW test rig as well as a grid simulator. Bus transportation will be provided from the hotel to the facility and then to Charleston International Airport. Please note that registration for this event will close on March 28.

  • Regulatory personnel and elected officials interested in variable generation power project development.

On-line registration with credit card payment is available. All registrations will be confirmed via e-mail upon receipt if a valid e-mail address is provided.

Cancellations and Refunds

All registration cancellations and requests for refunds of registration fees must be submitted to UWIG in writing.

Requests received by March 28 - receive full refund.

Requests received after March 28 - receive refund less $250 administrative fee if registered just for the workshop or $325 if registered for the user group meetings and workshop.

Registrants who have not paid by March 28 will need to make arrangements to pay in advance via credit card or risk having their registrations cancelled.

Credit for Attendance

1.2 Continuing Education Units will be awarded to attendees for attendance at the main workshop on April 3-4. More details will be available on site.
