The 2008 UWIG Spring Technical Workshop will provide
attendees with a global perspective on the status of wind in utility systems in
the United States and other countries. The agenda, on wind integration, application,
and operation on utility power systems, includes topics on industry and technology
developments, operating experience with wind, as
well as updates on large-scale and island power system wind integration studies. This series of events will include
meetings of the UWIG User Groups, the 2008 UWIG Membership Meeting and a reception
featuring the presentation of the UWIG Annual Achievement Awards.
Located in the heart of the Lone Star State and convenient to DFW and Love
Field airports, Fort Worth offers a prime location for the workshop, plus a wealth of activities.
The Hilton Fort Worth, where the workshop will take place, is centrally located
in the downtown area with easy access to dining and nightlife. Click

The Wind Turbine Operations & Maintenance User Group meeting will take place
on April 15 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Irving, Texas and is open only to UWIG
members who own or operate turbines. Click

Technical Workshop – April 17-18, Hilton Fort Worth. Topics include:
- Real-world operating experience with wind
- Wind turbine technology updates
- Wind integration studies
- Island power system wind integration studies
- Industry updates
UWIG Annual Membership Meeting - April 18, Hilton Fort Worth. Open to
UWIG members and invited guests - download the meeting agenda.
Site Tours - April 18 from 1 pm to 6 pm. Attendees can register for
one tour or the other, but not both.
- Clipper Windpower/BP Alternative Energy
Silver Star I Wind
Power Project. This 60 MW project, located near Stephenville, Texas,
features the Clipper Liberty 2.5 turbines and one of the first chances for
participants to see the Liberty machines.
- Oncor Electric Delivery’s Transmission Grid Management Operating Center. Located in Dallas, Texas, this provides a
technical tour option for those with time constraints due to travel or who
would like to see a system operations facility.

- Utilities, transmission system owners and operators, wind turbine vendors, project developers, and other stakeholders in regions already active in wind and/or considering adding wind generation to their systems.
- UWIG members and utility managers, project engineers, developers and others wanting to learn more about wind power projects.
- RTO/ISO and system operations personnel, and transmission system planners.
- Regulatory personnel and elected officials interested in wind power project development.

that registration for the Turbine Operations & Maintenance Users Group will be
conducted separately and by invitation only (send e-mail to
info@uwig.org for details). All registrations will be confirmed via e-mail upon receipt if a
valid e-mail address is provided.
$450 – Technical Workshop (UWIG Members)
$600 – Technical Workshop (Non-members)
$250 – User Group Meetings (Members and invited guests ONLY)
$250 – Speaker fee (Members and Non-members)
$100 – Silver Star I Wind Plant Tour or Oncor Operations Center Tour

Cancellations and Refunds
All requests for refunds must be submitted to UWIG in writing.
Requests received by April 10 - receive refund less $75 administrative fee.
Requests received by April 14 - receive refund less $200 administrative fee.
Unless there are extreme circumstances, no refunds will be made for
cancellations received after April 14 or for no-shows.
Registrants who have not
paid by April 10 will need to make arrangements to pay in advance via credit card
or risk having their registrations cancelled.
Credit for Attendance
1.2 Continuing Education Units will be awarded to attendees. More details will be available on site.
