UWIG Annual Meeting
Wind Integration: Focus on System Operation
April 11-13, 2005 - Minneapolis, MN
The technical program for the 2005 UWIG Annual Meeting explored key
issues related to deployment of wind energy across the US. It featured
presentations and discussion on utility control area and transmission system
operation, and large-scale (transmission-connected) and small-scale
(distribution-connected) wind turbine installation experiences. Participants
learned about challenges and opportunities for integrating wind power to meet
growing demands for clean energy.
The technical program took place along with meetings of the UWIG User Groups and the Annual Membership Meeting. The UWIG/AWEA/NREL Wind Integration and Interconnection Workshop followed the UWIG meetings.
Meeting topics included
- Utility Control Area Operation
- Dynamic Var and Low Voltage Ridge-through Support for Wind Plants
- Regional Wind Power Developments
